alfresco

At least once a summer we pack up food, drinks and blankets and head to the beach for dinner. We are lucky in that the beach is just houses away from us (which makes me wonder why we only do this about once a summer!) So Friday night was dinner on the beach night. Dave got the pizza, I packed the wine, plates and food for Tate, as he still does not like pizza! All was well until we got there and Tate asked, “Where is my beach stuff?” We had forgot his toys! Oh well, let’s just eat and then we can look for shells.

Nope!

Dave and I ate, while trying to save our pizza and wine from the flying shells, sand and seaweed that Tate was offering up to the sky gods in return for the appearance of his beach toys. He flipped, he kicked, he threw... he had FUN!! He did not however, eat!

After dinner we walked around, plunked rocks, saved our blanket set-up from the rising high tide, and reveled in the warm final summer breezes. I didn’t want to break the spell and walk home, but it was time for tubbies and time for, “What was your favorite part of the day!”

FAVORITE PART OF THE DAY
